Dish (high-gain parabolic): for PTP or distant customers. Narrow beam, more gain, better off-axis rejection. Ideal for backhaul and long-range CPE (NP6, NPX6, NPGen2 families, etc.).

Sector: to cover an azimuth with many CPEs. Less gain for distant clients, more illuminated area. NPPro / NPTR-style families.

Interference: a sector “lights up” more potential interferers. In noisy markets, narrow azimuth, raise height, or use higher F/B / shielded antennas on the backhaul feeding that sector.

Common mistake: using a sector as backhaul “because we already had it”. Wrong role degrades MCS and stability even with an expensive radio.

Beamwidth: understand the gain vs coverage trade-off; review the Beamwidth series and product sheets before buying.
